Crowns
A crown is a permanent covering that fits over a tooth that exhibits substantial decay or fracture – designed to restore the function and strength of a tooth in instances where a filling is inadequate. Crowns are made of a variety of different materials such as porcelain fused to metal, all porcelain, gold or a mix of these materials. The all porcelain crown has the most natural appearance, recommended in the front “smile zone” of your mouth. Since this process generally consists of two visits an interim crown is provided at the end of your first session – you leave able to smile and dine in comfort.
The process of applying a crown generally consists of 2 office visits. During the first visit we will take an impression of your tooth in order to create a custom-made crown. The crown is fitted during the second visit. During the interim period, we provide you with a temporary crown to wear while the permanent, custom crown is being created. This ensures your ability to smile and dine in comfort.
